Frosty Morning Moose

Subject: Moose
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
As morning light begins to melt the frost from aspen and willow branches, a female moose forages for willow twigs in a snowy meadow with her calf hidden just behind. Moose must eat nearly constantly during the winter, since the quality of their food declines in the cold and more energy is required to reach it through the snow.
