Antelope Flats

Subject: Elk
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
Spring in the Grand Tetons is a magical time, when massive elk herds migrate north from their wintering grounds in the National Elk Refuge and into the vast and open sagebrush of Antelope Flats. These early-arrivers are setting the trend: the first of many bands that will enjoy a season of bountiful grazing here, where the only reminder that the sagebrush is not endless are the monumental mountains that form its abrupt boundary in the distance.
